What is Passport Funding?
The Passport Program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
The Passport funding Program helps adults with developmental disabilities stay involved in their communities and live as independently as possible. It provides direct funding for community participation services and supports, activities of daily living, and person-directed planning. The program also provides funding for caregiver respite for primary caregivers of adults with developmental disabilities.
Passport Funding is a reimbursement program that provides adults with developmental disabilities funding to live independently and be part of their communities. This means that the person submits their receipts to the Passport Program for eligible expenses, and the Passport Program will reimburse them.
Examples of how Passport funding can be used include:
- Participating in community and recreation programs
- Taking skill-building and education programs / classes
- Hiring a support worker to help you with volunteering
- Hiring a support worker to assist you in the community
- Providing caregiver respite
